If I were starting out my tool collection, these would be the torque wrenches I would start with. These are mechanical click-style torque wrenches that will cover most automotive work where torque actually matters — wheels, suspension, drivetrain, and large fasteners.

These aren’t meant to compete with high-end electronic or micrometer tools. They’re meant to be your everyday, dependable, workhorse torque wrenches or backups to your fancy torque wrenches. That’s what I will be using them for.

They are easy to set, feel solid in the hand, and don’t overcomplicate the process. Plus, they offer readings in ft-lbs and Nm. No conversion necessary.

Note: This torque wrench should be calibrated once every 12 months or every 5,000 clicks. Sending your Sonic torque wrench to a 3rd party vendor to be calibrated in accordance with the ISO 6789:2-2017 standards DOES NOT void your warranty.
